Christmas is coming

Advent wreathAdvent is the most anticipatory season of the year. As the prelude to Christmas, the UK’s most celebrated festival for Christians and non-Christians alike, it has a real sense of expectation about it.

Of course whilst some eagerly await Christmas each year, others are filled with dread as it approaches. Indeed any event or situation can arouse diverse emotions in different individuals – excitement or dread, merriment or gloom, peace or panic.

Yes, we probably all share something like the joy that accompanies the pending arrival of a loved one, or the sinking feeling as we open a bill and expect the worst, but there are some situations where our reactions really will differ radically from the next person.  So whilst some people love exams, speaking in public or appearing on stage, others crumple at the thought.

But homeopathy can help; it embraces our individuality and can help tone down the very strong responses we can have in such circumstances.  Typical anticipatory situations and just some of their possible homeopathic helpers are:

Fear before going to the DENTIST: Gelsemium, Phosphorus, Tuberculinum

EXAM nerves: Carcinosin, Gelsemium, Nux Vomica, Silica, Thuja

STAGE FRIGHT: Coca, Gelsemium, Medorrhinum, Natrum Muriaticum, Tuberculinum

Fear about the FUTURE: Bryonia, Calc carb, Cicuta, Phosphorus, Spongia

Anxiety if a TIME is set: Alumina, Arg-nit, Carcinosin, Gelsemium, Medorrhinum

So next time your expectant emotions get the better of you, just reach for your homeopathic first aid kit.

And I hope your anticipation of this Christmas is positive.

Warm wishes,

Lucy
